Founded in Glasgow in 1883, The Boys' Brigade was the first uniformed youth organisation. From it has sprung all the other major youth organisations for boys and girls including The Scout Association, The Guide Association and The Girls' Brigade. The Boys' Brigade places great emphasis on discipline and Christian faith and seeks to help boys grow up as responsible young men of whom we can all be proud.
The 1st Slough Company is part of the youth work at St Andrews Methodist Church, Slough and belongs to the South Bucks and East Berks Battalion. The Battalion comprises the 1st Slough, 1st Langley, 1st Maidenhead and 2nd Maidenhead Companies. Although numerically small in size, the Battalion is both viable and active and organises annual competitions and events for all three sections.

The 1st Slough Boys' Brigade conforms with the safety and safeguarding
polices of The Boys' Brigade and The Methodist Church. Further information
concerning the rules applied to ensure safety of boys during Brigade
meetings and activities can be obtained from the Company Captain. All
Leaders are appointed by St Andrews Methodist Church Council.
